Jenny Tinmouth will race in the British Superbike Cup competition as well as make her debut on the roads in the 125 Isle of Man TT on the Billown course in June – and on the 37.73mile Mountain course in the Manx Grand Prix.

The 29-year-old from Ellesmere Port will become the first-ever female to race in British Superbikes when she lines up for Paul Shoesmith’s Team Speed Freak.

The team have yet to confirm what make machine she will ride. Jenny Tinmouth has limited superbike experience after a guest ride on one of the Rizla Suzukis in 2007 at Mallory Park, finishing 20th.

She’s more adept on a GP125 machine, having been a regular in the British Championship also riding at Billown in the new 125TT.

Tinmouth said: “I’m looking forward to that but I want to race on the Mountain course so I’m doing the Manx.

“They say there’s nothing like circuit knowledge and doing the Manx is a good way to get that without the pressure of racing at the TT.

“I’m going to go there and enjoy myself.”

The Speed Freak team also includes Isle of Man TT newcomer Sean Emmett and Paul Shoesmith.
