Auto 66 Presentation Evening

After a fantastic night out, I felt compelled to pass on my thanks to everyone at last night’s presentation who made it a great night.

After 7 years of racing at club level, in sidecars and now on 2 wheels, its thanks to clubs like Auto 66 that have brought on so many young riders who take their first attempts at racing at some times bleak and wet weekends wobbling around Elvington Airfield who then go on to bigger and better things.

These very same thoughts were echoed last night by several racers including the one and only Jamie Whitham who was there to present trophies and add a unique northern twist on his racing stories that kept everyone there entertained and interested.

He was a real gent, taking time to have photos done and spending time chatting to everyone about everything. I just want to finish off by saying that if you are reading this perhaps wondering whether to sell your road bike or, indeed, convert it into a race bike, then a club like Auto 66, with its easy and friendly approach would be the ideal place to start.

With no fancy motorhomes and no egos bigger than talent, everyone who wants to, should at least sometime in their life give it a go!

PS Thanks to the Mrs for putting up with all my race weekends.
