GMT94 gear up for World Endurance

GMT94, one of the top French teams in World Endurance, have signed David Checa, Sébastien Gimbert, Erwan Nigon and Arnaud Restani for the 2009 season.

The team, owned by former racer Christophe Guyot and World Endurance Champions in 2004, is leaving nothing to chance in developing the new long-bang Yamaha R1 and  have an extensive testing programme starting in March at Carole, before moving to Lédenon, Nogaro, and Le Mans, before returning to both Lédenon and Le Mans. 

GMT94’s racing season kicks off with the Valencia WSB round on April 5 with David Checa while the same weekend the French Championship kicks off at Ledenon for Sébastien Gimbert in the superbike class and Arnaud Restani in the Junior 600 Cup.

Two weeks later, the World Endurance championship starts at Le Mans with Nigon partnering Gimbert and Checa. Restani is the reserve rider.
