Renowned classic racing series the International Classic GP will join June’s extravaganza of two stroke racing at Jerez, with the 250cc and 350cc race series running as a support class for the World GP Bike Legends races.

The series, for machines from 1974 to 1984 and dominated in recent years by former TT winner Ian Simpson, will run alongside the headline 500cc, 250cc and 125cc races at the event at the end of June.

The line-up for the main event is also continuing to expand, with triple world champion Loris Capirossi joining the event for the 250 and 500 classes. Speaking as his entry was confirmed, the 41 year old commented: “Not only do I want to take part in this event, but I would love to ride both 250cc and 500cc! It sounds like a great idea and it will be amazing to be with so many old friends and rediscover old feelings in the saddle of the incredible two-stroke motorcycles.”

He joins a list of racing royalty that also includes legendary names such as Spencer, Gardner and Schwantz.
