Jonny Walker wins The Tough One

British hard enduro rider Jonny Walker has taken his second victory of the season, following on from last month’s Hell’s Gate win in Italy with a victory at home, lifting the crown at Wales’ The Tough One.

Over a surprisingly warm and sunny course through Nantmawr Quarry on the Welsh-English border, Walker dominated from fellow Brit Graham Jarvis to lead the race from running start to finish.

Speaking afterwards, he said: “I got the lead from the start and then tried to avoid any mistakes. I managed to keep a steady lead of two minutes to the finish. All my team did a great job today and I’m really happy to finally win The Tough One.”

Jarvis added: “I got a bit of arm pump early on, and struggled with my pace. Once I got my lines right and managed to start pushing, I had a good pace and kept a similar pace to Jonny. The only disappointing thing was my first few laps.”

The next event on the hard enduro calendar is the infamous Erzbergrodeo in June.
