Haydon back at Virgin Yamaha

James Haydon has snapped up one of the best rides remaining in British Superbikes, after signing to rejoin the Virgin Yamaha team for 2007.

The 32-year-old will spearhead the team’s title challenge with the all-new R1, in a two-man team alongside Tommy Hill. It will be Haydon’s third stint at Virgin.

Haydon, whose 2006 season was wrecked by injury, said: “Virgin are an amazing team and any rider would be proud to be with them. I’m really pleased to be back.

“Rob McElnea is a brilliant manager and has numerous BSB titles to his name.  The new R1 looks like a sensational bit of kit, and we will get stuck into bringing it up to BSB speed as soon as we can.”

Read an exclusive Haydon interview in the latest edition MCN out on Wednesday, December 6.
