Lap times at this year’s August Bank Holiday British Superbike race at Cadwell Park are set to tumble thanks to resurfacing work at the Lincolnshire circuit.

The majority of work has been carried out on the famous ‘mountain’ section of the track where approximately 160 tones of tarmac were used in the resurfacing.

This is the first time that this section of track has been resurfaced in 18 years.

The other area which has received attention is the Park corner at the end of the fast back straight.

This section of track needed maintaining due to it being a prime overtaking spot where the multitude of vehicles which race at Cadwell have taken their toll on the surface.

More than 100 tones of tarmac were used in this area with the top 40mm replaced. The work took two days to complete.
