Cadwell British Superbikes: Rea takes race two win

1 of 1

Jonathan Rea took the win in the second race at Cadwell Park with team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari taking the second step on the podium.

Rea went all out to win the second race after being taken out of a podium position in the first race by Leon Camier.

It was almost Camier who brought Rea’s lead to an end again in race two. Camier crashed heavily over the mountain on lap 8 and brought out the safety car for three laps letting everyone bunch up behind the leader.

Rea played the game well though and rocketed out in to the lead again as soon as he saw the safety car was pulling off.

Camier had to be treated beside the track with a broken femur and dislocated knee that didn’t bear watching in slow motion.

Ryuichi Kiyonari managed to hold off several contenders to take second place at a circuit he is known to dislike.

Gregorio Lavilla worked his way through the pack to take a well deserved third place, fairing better than team-mate Leon Haslam who despite setting several fastest laps kept making mistakes and eventually crashed out on the last lap after numerous off road excursions.
