It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours for Jonathan Rea.

While he was celebrating news he had secured a one-off MotoGP ride at Donington Park with Team KR, he was jetting back and fourth between Japan and the UK.

Rea said: “There was a problem with my visa so I had to fly home yesterday and I’m off to the Japanese Embassy today to get it sorted.

“Then I’m off back to Japan on a flight tonight. I should arrive back in Japan Tuesday. Then we’re testing again on Wednesday with the race meeting at the weekend.”

Rea is riding in the Suzuki 300km race, partner in his HM Plant BSB team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari this weekend in preparation for the Suzuka Eight Hour on July 29, 2007.

Rea said: “We’ve already done loads of testing. The chassis is near identical to my BSB factory bike but the engine is more superstock specification to keep the fuel consumption right down but still with anti-spin electronics.

“It feels good, the people I’m working with a good and I’m really happy that HRC are happy with what I’m doing so far.”
