Neil Hodgson to test Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 British Superbike

Neil Hodgson has been given a surprise call-up by Rizla Suzuki to test their GSX-R1000 British Superbike in a bid to turn around their disappointing season.

Former British and World Superbike champion Neil Hodgson has been asked by Rizla Suzuki team owner Paul Denning to spend two days on the bike – Wednesday and Thursday.

It comes after the squad suffered another torrid weekend of racing at Mondello Park with neither Chris Walker or Cal Crutchlow finishing race two.

Neil Hodgson has already done several tests this year on MotoGP and Superbike machinery – Ducati Desmosedicis and 999s – and is delighted to get the chance to ride another different machine.

He said: “I’ve kept in touch with Paul Denning all winter. We spoke a couple of times recently and he mentioned he’d like me to test. He wanted someone with an open mind to give the team a second opinion.

“That’s it, basically. Hopefully I can help them and give them a direction to go in.”
