Knockhill British Superbikes: Buildbase Ducati sign Brendan Roberts for rest of season

Buildbase Ducati signed Brendan Roberts for the remaining half of the British Superbike season, but will ‘share’ him with the official Ducati Corse European Superstock team.

The 2006 National Superstock champion’s first outing onboard the Buildbase 1098 v-twin will be at the official MCRCB test at Croft for British Superbikes on Tuesday July 3, 2007.

Then Brendan Roberts will be jetting to and from the UK and European circuits providing the much-needed track and development time for both himself and his two respective teams.

John Hackett, of JHP Ducati Coventry, had been in constant talks with Ducati’s World Superbike Team Boss, Davide Tardozzi, since Silverstone and with the full backing of Xerox Europe the deal was agreed yesterday at Goodwood.

Brendan Roberts has been carrying an injury this year, sustained in pre-season testing, which forced him to miss the first two rounds of this year’s series, but he has already won one race (Silverstone) and is currently lying in ninth place in the British Supersport title chase.
