McConnell fastest on R6

Billy McConnell was the fastest rider in Supersport on the new Virgin Media Yamaha R6 in the latest round of testing. 

Still recovering from badly dislocating his right wrist sustained in a racing crash at home in Australia just before Christmas, McConnell said: “Happy days!

“I’m really pleased to be doing those times on a new bike.

“The good news is that there’s much more to come from me and the bike but being on tops of the times is a big boost to my confidence.”
