British Superbikes: No decision yet for Ducati's BSB future

1 of 1

There’s still no news about the future of Airwaves Ducati in the British Superbike Championship.

It was thought the new Ducati 1098R F08 might be accepted into the series, but running in a heavily restricted format with air restrictors and carry a weight penalty.

However no one from the team, the British Superbike organisers or Ducati Corse are willing to discuss the issue since negotiations are still ongoing.

GSE Racing, the team who run Airwaves Ducati, have staff  and sponsors waiting to hear what the future holds – as are the legion of British Superbike fans who flock to the races to see the v-twins taking on the four-cylinder superbikes.

The delay in an announcement has led to speculation on other websites that Max Biaggi will link with the team to race in World Superbikes but GSE Racing have already dismissed the idea of going to the world series due to a lack of sponsorship.
