Brands Hatch British Superbikes: Airwaves Ducati pair aim high on day two

Airwaves Ducati riders Shane Byrne and Leon Camier are looking for minor changes for today’s morning Free Practice session that should see them at the sharp-end at the final round of British Superbikes.

Speaking after his third place result in free practice 2, newly-crowned 2008 BSB Champion Shane Byrne commented: “The Airwaves Ducati team has done a fantastic job once again.

“We approached practice as we have done all season, focusing on two long race runs.

“In both we’ve been consistently quick and I’m confident we can find the extra couple of tenths that we need to be at the top of the timesheets tomorrow”.

Likewise, sixth place finished Leon Camier said: “I really like Brands Hatch, but as I have never ridden the Indy circuit on a superbike before,

“I had to spend time building up my knowledge of the track and getting myself into a rhythm.

“We’ve got a few changes that we’d like to make to the Airwaves Ducati for practice in the morning, and then I think we’ll be in good shape for a strong qualifying performance.”

The time that the pair struggled to beat was set by Rob Mac racing Yamaha’s Karl Harris, who, incidentally, was the only man able to break the 46 second barrier on day one, setting a best time of 45.993.
