Brands Hatch British Superbikes: Guy Martin keeps the same recipe for Roll for Pole

1 of 1

Hydrex Bike Animal Honda rider Guy Martin says there was no need to attempt to make changes to the bike in the damp conditions in this mornings Free Practice session at Brands Hatch British Superbikes.

Martin set the 14th fastest time of this morning’s Free Practice session with a 48.005.

He said: “We’re going to wait for it to dry before deciding on any changes.”

A best time of 47.343 saw Martin placed in 17th in Free Practice 2 yesterday afternoon in dry conditions, with most of his time lost in the tighter corners at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit:

“The first corner’s great! It’s just like a corner at the TT, wide and open. A real man’s corner!”

“I’m fast round them type of corners, it’s the narrower, tighter corners like Druids where I’m not so good.

“If all short circuits were made of corners like Paddock Hill bend, I’d be on pole for all of them!”

But by the end of Free Practice 3, Martin had managed to promote himself from 17th up to 14th on the provisional grid.
