Croft British Superbikes: Mediocre home race for James Ellison

1 of 1

It was a weekend of what could have beens for Croft local, James Ellison, who struggled throughout the weekend just a week after impressing everyone at Donington with his wildcard performance at the WSB round.

Ellison notched up a ninth and an eighth on race day as a search for setup ended up being unsuccessful.

Ellison said: “Both races were OK except we made some slight improvements for the second one.

“I gave myself a lot of hard work by qualifying so far down and I think I was looking for a perfect setup which wasn’t there.”

Ellison struggled to get his Honda Fireblade to turn how he wanted it to all weekend, despite playing around with the traction control settings and turning off the anti-wheelie system for race two.

“We couldn’t run the pace of the front guys and it’s been frustrating chasing a setup,” added the Kendall rider.

“I couldn’t get the bike to turn how I want it to and as a result I was spending too much time on the side of the tyre – that destroyed our front tyre and we had very little grip from the rear.”
