Karl Harris training hard

Hydrex Honda boss Shaun Muir has written strict fitness and dietry controls into the contract of new signing Karl Harris.

Harris has always previously used boxing as a method of training but his new boss wants to see a much leaner and meaner fighting machine on the Hydrex Hondas for the 2009 season.

Muir said: “The contract is very specific about his fitness and diet and he’ll have to undergo tests to make sure he reaches the targets we’re looking for.

“Karl is working really hard on his training regime and I think he knows this year is a last chance salon for him. He’s got the ability and knows that he’s really got to deliver.

“I’m pretty confident that both him and Stuart are capable of winning races and we certainly will have the machinery for them to do that.

Harris looked remarkably fitter and slimmer when raced in the Christmas Cracker Shorttrack at Scunthope on December 27 and admitted then he has been following a strict training programme.
