Hill and Guintoli at Mallory Park with Worx Suzuki

Ex-BSB rider Tommy Hill will return to BSB this weekend at Mallory Park, replacing Sylvain Guintoli at the Worx Suzuki team.

The 24-year-old tested the Suzuki GSX-R1000 K9 last week at Mallory Park after leaving the Altea Honda WSB team and impressed the BSB team enough to be offered a ride.

Previously Michael Rutter had replaced Guintoli after the Frenchman collided with Josh Brookes at Donington Park.

Tommy said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me. Already, from the test and since then through our daily conversations, I’ve been blown away by just how enthusiastic the team is.

Team boss Jack Valentine added: “It won’t be easy for him, he’ll be coming from riding some of the fastest and most flowing tracks from around the world onto the shortest most stop-start circuit in the BSB calendar.

“As ever, we have to be realistic and allow him a reasonable period of adjustment, so the likelihood is we won’t see the best from Tommy until the races.

“However, we’re very hopeful of some good results as Tommy has already impressed us with his incredibly positive outlook and his keeness to get on.”
