Seeley to debut BSB Evo class bike

Recently-crowned National Superstock champion Alastair Seeley will ride a new BSB Evo specification GSX-R1000 at Silverstone this weekend.

Seeley will make his BSB debut riding a Relentless by TAS Suzuki that’s been specially built to the new 2010 rules that have just been publicly announced today.

The Moneymore-based team have slotted a superstock engine into a full BSB-spec rolling chassis for the race – and fitted a Yoshimura EM Pro kit ECU  – which is as close to the control ECU rules that the team can get at this stage with no 2010 BSB control ECU being available.

Seeley has already raced and won on the bike – in an Irish National Superbike Championship round at Anglesey (!) last weekend. He also tested the Evo bike back to back with the team’s full BSB superbike at Kirkistown a few days before the Anglesey race.

Team boss Philip Neill said: “Alastair has been very impressive on both the Evo  and the full BSB bike. Bearing in mind he holds the Kirkistown lap record on his superstocker at 55.9, he did a 53.4 on the superbike – which believe me is a phenomenal lap time – and then did a 54.6s which is equally impressive!”
