Kagayama to miss Cadwell

Yukio Kagayama will be forced to sit out this weekend’s Cadwell BSB round after his unfortunate first race crash during the third BSB round of the at Oulton Park last month.

After the incident, doctors diagnosed a fracture to his T5 vertebrae requiring rest for several weeks, but following a further private examination yesterday at London Bridge Hospital, Yukio has been advised to delay his return to competitive action after it was decided that the fracture had not repaired sufficiently to risk racing so soon.

Team manager Jack Valentine, said, “It’s disappointing, but the fracture was serious and despite the fact that Yukio feels well in himself now, we cannot risk any long-term injury, especially by returning to such a physically demanding track like Cadwell Park.

With a bit more time to recover, Yukio should be back to full-fitness at Mallory next month. In the meantime, I can also confirm that we will not field a replacement rider this weekend, so Tommy will fly the flag at Cadwell for the Worx Crescent Suzuki Team alone.”
