Donington BSB: Brookes does the double

1 of 1

Australian Josh Brookes has dominated the Donington Park round of the 2012 BSB championship by taking victory in race two, after victory in race one and taking pole position.

Brookes again got off to a good start, but didn’t entirely have it all his own way. Samsung Honda rider Michael Laverty overtook Brookes into the chicane on the first lap, but Brookes retook the lead exactly a lap later.

Brookes though was unable to pull away from Irishman and Laverty moved into the lead again at the half way stage. Brookes stuck with the Honda rider and retook the lead in the last half of the race before pulling away to take a comfortable victory.

Tommy Hill remains at the top of the championship after finishing third.

Tommy Bridewell and Alex Lowes secured their places in the Showdown with the pair finishing the race fourth and fifth and respectively.
