GBmoto targets two riders in the Showdown

JG Speedift Kawasaki boss Mark Smith Halvorsen says he expects nothing less than two riders in the MCE British Superbike championship Showdown for 2015, as James Westmoreland joins James Ellison at the squad.

“Westie was seventh in 2012, fifth and a title fighter in 2013, and injured and not at his full potential last year. We’ve got a simple goal now – get him back in the Showdown, get him feeling confident again, and hopefully he’ll be fighting for the title in the last three rounds.”

“The other James; he’ll be expecting to fight for the title, and we’ll be expecting no less of him. He’s had a year with the bike, although we are going to continue to improve it, and with his performance in 2014 and his knowledge and confidence in the bike you can expect to see him fighting for wins at every single round.”

Smith Halvorsen, who announced Westmoreland last weekend at Motorcycle Live, also says that he’s confident that the pair will work well together as the team continue to develop their ZX10R package.

“I can see a good balance and positive working relationship being formed between Mr. Ellison and Mr. Westmoreland, which will make the job of having two James’ in the team even more difficult! They are similar in weight and height and also riding style, so this can only help us to achieve overall development of our package, whilst we will also be looking to tailor our 2015 Superbikes to suit each of them too. Having a happy and motivated garage environment, helps massively in terms of results and I’m positive next year GBmoto will be enjoying even more podium success.”
