Parkes: ‘Now is the right time for BSB move’

2015 is the right time for a move to the MCE British Superbike Championship after a decade in world series competition, according to Milwaukee Yamaha new signing Broc Parkes.

A former two-time runner up in the World Supersport series, Parkes comes to BSB fresh from a season in MotoGP, ironically with BSB champion Shane Byrne’s PBM team. But after resisting the move to step off the world stage, he says the strength of BSB has made the decision easy.

“I’ve always believed it was better to be in World Supersport or Superbike than to be in BSB, because it’s a world championship. But now I think BSB is as strong as WSB is; the series is one of the best in the world, and the rules are in exactly the right direction.”

“They’ve gotten rid of a few of the more dangerous tracks too, although I’m sure that Cadwell Park is going to be a real eye opener! Everywhere you go, anywhere in the world, people know about Cadwell and want to ride it – and I can’t wait!”
