British Supersport front-runner Luke Mossey will join Howie Mainwaring at the Quattro Plant Bournemouth Kawasaki team for the 2015 MCE British Superbike Championship. Mossey, who took two wins in the supersport series in 2014, replaces Dan Linfoot, who has joined the factory Honda squad for their comeback to the championship.

Mossey joins Howie Mainwaring, who took his and the team’s first victory at the last round of the championship at Brands Hatch back in October. He then backed it up with a strong podium finish in the next race; helping to secure his spot for 2015 in the process.

Mainwaring said: “I am really looking forward to this season, I think even more than I did last year! It is my second year with the team and it feels nice to be signed and ready, especially as we ended the year so strongly at the final few rounds. The last round at Brands Hatch was fantastic and it all came together for the team and me and I want to start the 2015 season picking up where we left off. “

“We know the team are capable of being in the Showdown – Dan proved that last year – so that is where I want to be. We need to be consistently fighting at the front.”

Mossey added: “I feel the time is right for me to move up to the Superbike Championship now after five years in Supersport. I really want to step up and prove that we can be moving forward and be at the front. I was given this opportunity and I believe that I need to be aiming for the top ten before the end of the season. I know the team are capable – we saw that at the final round at Brands Hatch this year. I am really buzzing for next year, I can’t wait.”

Team Owner Pete Extance concluded: “We enjoyed a great season in 2014 with both Howie and Dan (Linfoot). We firmly believe with Howie’s new found form and confidence we will be back battling for a Showdown position again in 2015 after ending this year so strongly.

“Luke is a real breath of fresh air to the team and I feel he is now ready to take on the challenges of the Superbike. The team are fully aware Luke needs time on the bike and will be heading to Spain with Howie as soon as possible to start off the 2015 season.”

“Luke knows he will need to be at the top of his game in his rookie season on the Superbike but he is confident he will surprise some of the regular top riders. Thanks again to Quattro Plant and all our sponsors for the continued support for 2015.”
