Brands BSB attracts massive crowds

Last weekend’s Big Brands Bash round of the MCE British Superbike championship attracted an incredible 50,000 people to the Kent circuit, BSB organisers and circuit owners MSV have confirmed.

Visibly busier than April’s round on the shorter Indy circuit, they were blessed with beautiful sunshine as Josh Brookes took a double win.

One of BSB’s semi-official big weekends, alongside Cadwell Park’s Party in the Park, the big crowd further adds to BSB’s status – and to the innovative and sometimes controversial steps taken by series director Stuart Higgs and his team in an attempt to increase the draw of the series.

“Last weekend proved that Brands Hatch remains the home of the big summer Superbike event with 55,000 fans visiting the track for the racing, live music and atmosphere. We now move into the second half of the season with huge anticipation – Thruxton always delivers some of the closest races of the season followed by Cadwell Park and the annual ‘Party in the Park’.

“Those rounds will prove crucial to the championship and will make or break a rider and team’s position ahead of the Showdown. There will certainly be all to play for as we arrive at Oulton Park in September for the triple-header round that will ultimately decide the six Title Fighters!”
