Be Wiser Kawasaki withdraw from BSB

MCE British Superbike organisers MSV have this morning confirmed paddock speculation regarding the future of the AP Kawasaki team, who have raced in 2015 under the Be Wiser Kawasaki squad with Danny Buchan and Chris Walker onboard.

In a brief statement, MSV announced that the squad have withdrawn their entry for the remaining two rounds of the season, potentially bringing to an end an impressive first full season for reigning National Superstock 1000 champion Buchan and fans’ favourite Walker.

While the cause of the collapse of the team has yet to be made public, it isn’t the first time this season the squad have made headlines, after parting ways with team manager and former BSB champion Tommy Hill just prior to Cadwell Park.

In a terse statement released by team sponsors Be Wiser, marketing director Andrew Dunkerley said that they were too at a loss to explain the team’s withdrawal.

“We were absolutely astonished to hear the news and extremely disappointed. As title sponsor we made all sponsorship payments on time and indeed exceeded our agreed level of contributions. We are at a loss to understand why AP Kawasaki Limited are unable to fulfil their obligations for the remaining two rounds of the BSB series.”
