Cooper takes debut BSB win in tricky conditions

Richard Cooper has taken his debut MCE British Superbike race win at Oulton Park in tricky conditions, coming out on top of a battle with Christian Iddon that went right down to the last corner.

With the whole grid gambling on tyres on the tyre, Cooper’s choice of intermediate front and slick rear let him make an early break, and despite a heroic performance from Iddon, on full inters, he was unable to make his last lap pass stick through Lodge.

Leon Haslam won the chaotic battle for the final podium spot, winning over teammate James Ellison and Michael Laverty after a race-long duel. Shane Bryne rallied through to sixth, just ahead of teammate Irwin, with Jason O’Halloran, Jack Kennedy and Stuart Easton rounding out the top ten.
