BSB: Same approach for showdown contender Ellison

1 of 1

James Ellison has said he won’t be approaching this weekend’s MCE British Superbike Showdown decider any differently despite being one of the six riders fighting for a spot in the all-important top six.

The Cumbrian rider sits sixth in the championship after Cadwell Park but is only seven points clear of the chasing Richard Cooper.

After a further test at Cadwell Park, Ellison is confident the team are honing in on the problems that have been hampering him so far this season as he looks to make a return to the podium this weekend for the first time since Knockhill

“Oulton Park is my local track and a circuit I really love riding so I always look forward to racing there,” he said. “We had a very positive test at Cadwell at the start of the week and we’re narrowing down on the problem that’s been affecting us and I think we’re now in a positon to get back to where we belong this weekend.

“Obviously the Showdown is our goal, but I’m not approaching this weekend any different. Our aim is to be on the podium every round and I feel we’ve now made that step so we can be challenging for the rostrum again and start getting our Championship challenge back on track!”
