BSB: Fourth and top Yamaha for Brookes at Brands

Josh Brookes was able to salvage a fourth place from what was a tricky weekend for the Aussie and his Anvil Hire TAG Yamaha team.

A tough practice and qualifying saw him hampered in race one, but he faced an even bigger challenge in the second outing starting from P11. However, a strong charge through the pack saw him pick off his rivals to eventually finish fourth after passing Honda’s Jason O’Halloran on the final lap.

“We started with a bike that was fairly difficult to ride and that wouldn’t have been able to perform like it did at the end of the weekend,” said Brookes. “So obviously, there are positives to be taken from the weekend!

“We’re just missing a couple of tenths in the early stages, the front end of the bike is brilliant. I wouldn’t change a thing there, we just need to work a little more on the rear suspension set-up. I feel we’re really close but it’s very competitive!”
