BSB: Iddon: 'If there's a time to do it, it's now!'

Christian Iddon is hopeful of re-igniting his MCE British Superbike title chances at Silverstone this weekend, a circuit that has suited both him and his BMW S1000RR in the past.

Iddon took his first ever BSB podiums at Silverstone last year and believes he’s now riding better than he’s ever ridden, so is hoping that’ll be enough to see him move into the top six by the end of this weekend.

Currently eighth in the standings, Iddon is just eight points off a top six spot so it’s all to play for over Silverstone’s three races.

“It’s going to be a real dog fight and it is a really interesting quartet in front of me; Jake has such a super raw talent, Josh who everyone expects to be in the Showdown, Luke who is coming back from injury but it’s a strong track for him and Jason is just ahead of that,” he said.

“The good thing for us is Silverstone was a good circuit for us last year. We were on the podium in both races and it’s a track that allows us to get away with some of the weaknesses with our bike. At the end of the day all we can do is give it everything we’ve got and hope for the best. I feel I’m riding better than I’ve ever ridden so if there’s a time to do it it’s now.”
