BSB: Top six for local star Jackson at Cadwell

1 of 1

Smith’s BMW’s Lee Jackson enjoyed his best qualifying of the season for his home round at Cadwell Park today.

Making his first appearance in the final qualifying session of the year, the Lincolnshire youngster went on to qualify sixth for tomorrow’s opening race in front of his home crowd.

Confident with an ever-improving package, Jackson hopes to be able to turn his qualifying pace into top six results tomorrow as the Smiths BMW team continue to enjoy their best ever season in the MCE British Superbike championship with the youngster and team-mate Peter Hickman.

“It’s nice to be into Q3,” he told MCN after the race. “It’s been a tough season but I think we’re on a roll now. We’ve come here and everything seems to be going in the right direction. The bike is good, without putting a downer on last year’s package I think this year’s is better and strong so for me the season has been a bit disappointing as I knew I could fight inside the top eight. Now we’ve got the package where we need to be I think we can be here for the rest of the season, starting with what I’m hoping can be two top sixes tomorrow!”
