Highlights of the MCE British Superbike Championship will continue to be broadcast on ITV4 after the signing of a new deal between the network and series’ rights holders Motorsport Vision.

The deal will see hour-long highlights packages of all MCE British Superbike rounds broadcast on ITV4 each Wednesday following a race weekend, plus repeats on both ITV4 and ITV while the programmes will also be available on the ITV Hub, until 2020.

“The MCE British Superbike Championship delivers great action on every occasion and together with the unique personalities of the riders, provides for compelling viewing,” said Niall Sloane, ITV’s Director of Sport.

MCE BSB boss Stuart Higgs added: “I am delighted that we have extended our partnership with ITV to 2020, which in doing so will confirm twelve consecutive years of MCE British Superbikes being broadcast free to air on ITV4.

“As we continue developing the championship, ensuring that it remains accessible to as many people as possible is extremely important. This even longer term broadcast commitment with ITV is great news as we start what looks set to be an epic 2017 MCE BSB Championship season starting at Donington Park on April 2.”

The news comes just days after the threat of BSB’s live broadcaster, Eurosport, being removed from Sky’s TV platform in the UK after a row between Sky and Eurosport’s parent company, Discovery. Fortunately, a last minute deal was salvaged between the two firms that would see no change.
