BSB: Learning process continues for rookie Ray in Spain

MCE British Superbike rookie Bradley Ray continued to get to grips with his Buildbase Suzuki GSX-R1000 as the team completed two Spanish tests last week.

Alongside his team-mates from sister outfit Bennetts Suzuki, Ray completed three days on track at Cartagena before moving on to Almeria for a further two days and despite a minor technical hiccup towards the end of the first test, it was a productive week for the youngster.

He spent his time familiarising himself with the extra power from the 1000cc bike, riding with a stock motor.

“This test has mainly been about getting laps under my belt,” he said. “I did a load in the first two days at Cartagena and then we had a small issue that held us back a bit on the final day, but it was fixed for Almeria and I was able to get some more laps in.

“I’ve been spending my time getting used to the superbike but it feels really good, the Suzuki seems a real nice bike to ride and our lap times haven’t been too bad considering it’s my first real tests. I just can’t wait to get out at Donington now and race the thing!”
