BSB: Dixon: 'This is where the ball starts rolling'

Jake Dixon is looking to get the ball rolling on his 2018 Bennetts British Superbike championship challenge as the series resumes at Snetterton this weekend.

Before the six-week break, Dixon had bagged a double podium at Oulton Park after a mixed start to the year for the RAF Regular and Reseves Kawasaki squad. However, after a strong test at the venue of his debut double win last year – Knockhill – earlier in the week, the 22-year-old is itching to get back on track this weekend.

“I can’t wait for this weekend; it’s the team’s home round and I really like Snetterton. It was the first track I ever rode a Superbike and the track is mint so I am looking forward to it,” he said. “My fiancée Sarah was recently given the all clear from cancer so I feel really good coming into this weekend.

“I have my focus on the second half of the season and this is where the ball really starts rolling. I think this year so far has been funny; it has been a bit mixed for everyone and we have been fast in all conditions in practice and then in the race for different reasons it has gone wrong where I have made mistakes or whatever.

“We then had two really solid results with a double podium at Oulton Park and then that continued into the Knockhill test so hopefully we can carry that on again into this weekend. I feel happy and I know I can be on the podium and win races. We need to start doing that to push for the Showdown and I am ready to go out and have fun this weekend!”
