BSB: Riders predict ultimate top six for 2018

The 2018 Bennetts British Superbike Championship gets underway at Donington Park this weekend. Last week MCN sat down with most of the 2018 grid and put them on the spot for predictions ahead of the season’s start.

For those who don’t know, the BSB season is split into two parts, the ‘Main Season’ and the ‘Showdown’.

Over the main season, riders fight over the first nine rounds for a position inside the all-important top six. Those six riders are then elevated to 500 points apiece, plus any points they have accrued from finishing on the podium across the first nine rounds (5 points for a win, 3 for second and 1 for third), and fight for the title over the final three rounds while everyone else scraps it out for the Riders’ Cup.

With the BSB field looking more competitive than ever this season, we asked each rider which six riders will feature in this year’s Showdown.

We’ve then collated all the nominations together and come up with the Riders’ Ultimate top six…

According to the 2018 Bennetts British Superbike grid, the following riders will feature in this year’s Showdown:
