BSB stars experience thrills of Alton Towers

Four Bennetts BSB stars swapped their 220bhp superbikes some high-speed thrills that were out of their control with a visit to Alton Towers ahead of this weekend’s third round at Oulton Park.

Championship leader Bradley Ray rocked up to the world’s largest theme park, complete with Buildbase Suzuki leathers, along with podium-man last time out Jason O’Halloran, local boy Christian Iddon and the series’ leading rookie Tarran Mackenzie.

The day started with a 180ft plunge into Oblivion, pulling 4.5G as they hurtled down the vertical drop before a spin on Nemesis – one of the park’s most intense ride experiences.

The quartet also got a taste of the park’s latest attraction, Wicker Man; the first wooden rollercoaster in the UK for 21 years.

Speed comes second nature to these lads, so they were all quick to jump on Rita: Queen of Speed, launching from 0-100kph in just 2.5 seconds.

The third round of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship kicks off at Oulton Park this Saturday.
