BSB: Bridewell: 'I'm back where I should be!'

Tommy Bridewell re-paid the faith put in him by the MotoRapido Ducati squad with a stunning double-rostrum at Oulton Park this weekend.

The Westcountryman has impressed throughout his short tenure with the small but well-run squad and that reached another level at the Cheshire track as he walked away with a second and third place to show for his efforts.

Sacked from the Movuno.com Halsall Racing squad mid-way through the season, a return to the rostrum had never seemed further away for Bridewell when MotoRapido boss Steve ‘Wilf’ Moore picked up the phone, but the unlikely pairing have proven the doubters wrong after a number of strong rounds.

“That feels good,” Bridewell smiled. “I knew we’d be strong coming here as this is a good circuit for me and even though I’ve only been on the MotoRapido bike for a short time I feel so good on it. To walk away with two podiums and especially in such different conditions is amazing.

“This year hasn’t been easy. Out in Spain at the start of the year I felt like I was about to have my best year yet, but things ended up going the way they did. This weekend I’ve been able to prove I can still ride and that I’m capable of running at the front in BSB. I’m back where I should be.”
