BSB: Ray: 'We can still improve!'

Bradley Ray insists he and the Buildbase Suzuki team can further improve this weekend after a strong start on the opening day.

Ray led the way by 0.127 seconds over Showdown rival Jake Dixon as the ninth round of the 2019 Bennetts British Superbike Championship got underway at Silverstone, but says there are still areas the team can improve with the GSX-R should the weather play ball tomorrow.

“I’m quite enjoying the new track, it’s only one corner different so not too much to learn but it’s interesting as there are quite a few lines through there – it’s a very unique corner,” Ray said.

“It’s going to make the racing a lot closer. 30 laps around here is going to be hard work and it’s going to be super close so it’ll be great for the fans.

“It’s been a fairly good day for us, we’ve found a fairly good set-up with the bike and the best thing is we still know we can improve a bit more. It’ll be interesting tomorrow, hopefully it doesn’t rain and we can get a decent spot on the grid and then focus on getting some decent points in the first race. The aim here is to be clever, get in the Showdown and then we can start looking at winning again!”
