BSB: Bradley Ray gets Suzuki MotoGP test

Bennetts BSB star Bradley Ray will get a taste of Suzuki’s GSX-RR MotoGP bike in a ‘thank you’ test at Sepang on Sunday.

The young gun is out in Sepang working with the factory Yoshimura Suzuki team, who he built strong links with in 2018 through an impressive performance at the Suzuka Eight Hour as well as an appearance in the Japanese Superbike championship.

Last year Ray fronted Suzuki’s first BSB title challenge since Josh Brookes left the marque for Yamaha in 2013, with the campaign starting with a shock double victory at Donington Park. Ray continued to impress throughout the season, but inconsistency would eventually thwart the youngster title tilt.

Ray is expected to get a handful of laps on Suzuki’s MotoGP machine, which is currently being tested by official Grand Prix test rider Sylvain Guintoli.

The Japanese factory have been known to reward Superbike riders with such tests in the past, this time last year Toni Elias and Michael Dunlop were rewarded with tests for winning the MotoAmerica Championship and Senior TT respectively.
