BSB: Rory Skinner joins Lee Jackson at FS-3 Kawasaki for 2021 season

Rory Skinner will make his Bennetts British Superbike debut next year after being chosen to partner Lee Jackson at FS-3 Racing Kawasaki.

Skinner dominated the British Supersport class this season, winning 10 of the 12 races to become the youngest-ever champion. The Scottish motorcycle racing protégé already has a big following having previously competed in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies series and the Junior World Championship.

“I’m delighted to be joining FS-3 Racing Kawasaki,” Skinner said. “From the minute I met Darren [Fry] and Nigel [Snook] I clicked with them and feel that they are the right team for me at this stage in my career. They’re a relatively young team but they’ve already proven to be race winners and like me are very ambitious.

“Everyone knows how good the ZX-10RR is and having seen the new bike up close I have no doubt it will be even better in 2021. Kawasaki UK are right behind the project and I can’t wait to get out and start testing properly in April.”

Alongside his efforts on the world stage, Skinner was also the inaugural winner of the British Talent Cup in 2018.

Meanwhile, Jackson remains within the FS-3 Racing setup for a third successive year, having competed in the Superstock 1000 class for the team in 2018 and 2019.

This year proved to be Jackson’s best yet in BSB. Jackson finished on the podium at Oulton Park, whilst securing several other top six finishes, and ended the year eighth overall, outscoring former teammate Danny Buchan

“After my strongest season in the British Superbike class to date, getting the opportunity to stay with the same team and crew for 2021 was a great option and something I knew I wanted to do,” Jackson admitted.

“With this package I know we can fight for race wins week in, week out, and that’s the goal for 2021. The news of a new Kawasaki ZX-10RR for the 2021 race season is awesome and after seeing the bike in the flesh I’m even more excited!”

Both riders will be campaigning the all-new, track-focused 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR, which has been developed in conjunction with the factory World Superbike team. Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes tested the new bike at Jerez and Aragon last week.

“We’ve already received an early Christmas present in the form of the latest version of the ZX-10RR,” Nigel Snook, FS-3 Racing Kawasaki team owner, said. “With limited testing before the new season kicks off, we’ll be working hard over the winter in conjunction with full support from Kawasaki to ensure we get the most out of the new model from day one.

The Midlands-based FS-3 Racing team will once again be the official Kawasaki Superbike team in BSB next season.
