BSB: Oxford Products Racing Ducati retain Ben Currie and Christian Iddon for 2024

Reigning British Supersport Champion Ben Currie will defend his crown with the Oxford Products Racing Ducati team in 2024 whilst Christian Iddon will once again represent the team in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.

Currie secured Ducati’s first Supersport crown since 2002 (Stuart Easton, Monstermob Ducti) onboard the V2, with the Italian manufacturer able to return to the class thanks to the new technical regulations.

After a consistent first half of the season, Currie won six of the final 10 races to end the season 73 points clear of Tom Booth-Amos. In total, the Aussie bagged 14 podiums onboard the silver Ducati.

“I am absolutely stoked to continue with Oxford Products Racing Ducati after winning the title together this season,” Currie said. “It was a no-brainer for me to come back and defend the title and run the number one plate, as that has always been a dream of mine. Now I can finally do that with a fantastic team, and I can’t wait to get started.

“Last season as a team we progressed throughout the year so it will be awesome to hit the ground running from the off. Supersport is going to be highly competitive next year, but I am really up for the challenge, and I am looking forward to getting stuck into testing and trying to retain the number one plate.”

Alongside Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki and Triumph, Currie will now also have to battle Honda following the Japanese manufacturer’s impending return to the Supersport class. The updated CBR600RR will have four-time British Supersport Champion Jack Kennedy onboard.

2015 British Supersport Champion Luke Stapleford has also confirmed his place on the grid with the Macadam Triumph Racing team.

Meanwhile, Iddon will look to build upon his first season back onboard the Ducati V4 R, where he finished ninth overall with four podiums. After a slow start, Iddon built up some consistency and finished inside the top five on 11 occasions.

“It is mega to be back with Oxford Products Racing Ducati next season,” Iddon said. “This season we had high expectations and next year we definitely want more! The continuity is a really good thing, and we can really build on what we achieved towards the end of the season with much stronger performances and I am fairly certain that as a team we have all the pieces of the puzzle, we just have to put that together.

“We had some setbacks this year, but I know this is the package that will allow me to do the job required and I am looking forward already to next season and another exciting season of BSB. I obviously want to thank Wilf, to Oxford Products and the team for extending their faith in me and I genuinely think together we have a lot more to give and I am really looking forward to putting a real genuine championship challenge together in 2024.”

The team has also extended its title sponsor partnership with Oxford Products for a sixth consecutive season, with the Silver and black livery now one of the most recognisable in the BSB paddock.
