Davey Todd will return to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship grid this weekend at Oulton Park as a replacement for the injured Danny Buchan.

The reigning Pirelli National Superstock Champion will jump onboard the SYNETIQ BMW M1000 RR vacated by Buchan, who is recovering at home following his crash at Cadwell Park.

Buchan was concussed in the accident, which occurred at the bottom of the Mountain, and having already sustained a concussion at Snetterton, he’s been advised by his medical team to miss the round.

Todd has already signed a deal with the team for the roads next season, running under the Milwaukee BMW by TAS Racing banner. The 27-year-old began his 2023 season with Milenco by Padgetts Motorcycles but parted company with the team after struggling in the Superbike class.

“I really can’t wait to ride.” Todd said. “I feel for Danny having to miss out, but this gives me a great opportunity to make my debut for TAS Racing on the SYNETIQ BMW, and no better place than the British Superbike Championship.

“It’s a great chance to get some race miles under my belt with the team and the Oulton Park circuit has a bit of everything and somewhere I enjoy racing.”

Plans were already in place for Todd to compete for the team in the final two rounds of the season at Donington Park and Brands Hatch, as he looks to get to grips with the M1000 RR.

Todd isn’t the only change on the grid for Oulton Park. Brayden Elliot will make his Superbike debut with DAO Racing Kawasaki following Dean Harrison’s premature departure from the team.

Meanwhile, Luke Stapleford, who raced for DAO Racing at Cadwell Park, will jump onboard the McAMS Yamaha R1. Stapleford replaces Tito Rabat following the Spaniard’s departure from the championship.
