Dutch racer Jaimie van Sikkelerus will compete in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship Pathway class this season after joining TAG Racing Honda.

Van Sikkelerus was set to continue in the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship in 2024 with MPM Routz Racing, but will now make the jump into the Superbike class alongside Fraser Rogers, who will ride TAG Honda’s BSB bike.

Last season, Van Sikkelerus claimed victory at Donington Park on his way to fifth overall in the standings onboard the Yamaha R6. The Dutchman also finished fifth overall in 2022, again with a single victory at Donington Park.

“I understand that this news may come as a bit of a surprise, but I am extremely thankful to the TAG Racing Honda team for keeping me in the Championship as I am looking forward to competing in BSB so much,” Van Sikkelerus said.

“I can’t wait to jump on the bike and work together with the team at the first test. Thank you to everyone involved and my sponsors for making this possible.”

Meanwhile, Matt Truelove remains with the team in the Superstock class and will race alongside Shaun Winfield. Truelove finished on the podium during the 2023 season finale at Brands Hatch.

“It’s great to be remaining with the TAG Honda team for the 2024 Superstock season,” Truelove commented. “I really felt like the bike became my own towards the middle end of last season and the equal ambition is still there to be right up at the sharp end. Everyone clearly works hard to achieve results and I’m excited to get going again.”

TAG Racing Team Owner, Gary Winfield added: “It’s been great to spend time with Jaimie and we are really pleased to welcome him to the team. After some testing with the BSB Pathway specification at Brands Hatch, we developed a clear strategy to build on and make the right bike for Jaimie. Fraser brings a wealth of experience on our Superbike too and I have every confidence that the Superbike riders will benefit from each other.

“We have bigger and bolder ambitions this year and believe both Matt and Shaun have the determination and the mind set to achieve those goals within the Superstock Championship.”
