Barros signs for Gauloises Yamaha

Alex Barros has ended his four-year relationship with Honda to move to the Gauloises Yamaha squad.

The 32-year-old Brazilian, revitalised by Honda RCV four-stroke, took two wins this season for the West Honda Pons team, including the final round in Valencia at the weekend.

He’ll partner Olivier Jacque on the M1. Herve Poncharal, team boss at Gauloises Yamaha said: ” Alex has been incredible this season and I’m sure he’ll fit in well with our team and adapt quickly to the M1.

” I think that Olivier too will adapt well tot he bike with a full winter test programme and will be running up front where he belongs from the beginning of next season. ”
