Garry McCoy will join Regis Laconi to test Kawasaki’s ZX-RR MotoGP four-stroke this Tuesday. The pair will remain behind in Valencia, the scene of Sunday’s final GP of the 2002 season, for the test.
With Red Bull pulling its sponsorship from his Yamaha squad to join the fledgling KTM squad in the 125 class for 2003 McCoy could find himself out in the wilderness unless he can convince Kawasaki.
Fellow Aussie Andrew Pitt is already confirmed as the other rider in Kawasaki’s 2003 MotoGP line-up.
Laconi too is chasing a berth amid speculation that Noriyuki Haga will make his return to MotoGP with Aprilia to partner Colin Edwards.
