Ducati GP riders Loris Capirossi and new team-mate Sete Gibernau completed the final day of their three-day Jerez test in bitter cold with Capirossi putting in the fastest lap.

The cold wind kept the riders off the track until the afternoon, but they both managed to put in another 60 laps by the end of the day.

Capirossi managed to set a faster time than Gibernau for the first time in the three days finishing the test on 1:40.947 on qualifying tyres and 1:41.394 on race tyres while Gibernau managed 1:41.024 on qualifying tyres and 1:41.609 on race tyres.

Both riders spent the majority of the session on the 2006 machine trying out different tyre contructions all with the same compound of rubber, but Capirossi went out on this year’s bike towards the end just to verify how far they had progressed.

“Today the wind was really cold” said Capirossi. “We did a lot of work with tyres and I think our Bridgestone friends picked up some interesting data. I am pleased with the work we have done over the last three days but now I just can’t wait to go on holiday!”
