Phillip Island revamp

A $300 million development of facilities at the Phillip Island track in Australia has been anounced.

GP legend Mick Doohan attended the press conference to announce plans for a major upgrade and extension to the circuit infrastructure. There will also be a five star hotel with 1175 rooms, an 18-hole golf course, and a go-kart circuit replica of the GP circuit.

“The outlook, with the cliffs and the coastal strip is what really adds to the lure of the Island circuit,” said Doohan.”Nothing beats the thrill of Lukey Heights, Southern Loop or Siberia or clocking 300 k’s plus going down the main straight, but what makes it extra special is the outlook, the location and the views to the pounding blue ocean”
