Porto & Kallio head test

1 of 1

Sebastian Porto and Mika Kallio head the unofficial timesheets for the 250cc and 125cc GP classes after the first day of testing at Valencia on Wednesday, February 9.

Despite rain in the early hours of the morning creating cool and damp conditions, Porto bettered the time which qualified him second on the grid for the Valencia GP in 2004 by almost a tenth of a second, with 1:36.461. Randy De Puniet was second-quickest behind his Team Aspar team-mate, and fellow Aprilia rider Casey Stoner was third. Reigning 125cc world champion Andrea Dovizioso was fourth fastest as he starts his first season on a 250cc machine.

In the 125cc class, KTM rider Mika Kallio was fastest with 1:41.725, followed by Honda’s Thomas Luthi and Aprilia’s Sergio Gadea.
