WCM to use KTM

1 of 1

With the WCM team still waiting for the brand new Blata V6 engine to appear it seems they might be able to run the ditched KTM engine for some of next year.

The Proton KR team ran the engine in 2005 until KTM unceremoniously pulled the plug on the effort mid season leaving them without anything to power the bike, but it turns out that there are still race ready engines available.

WCM Team boss Peter Clifford says he has been offered the engines for next year and may use them for his proposed two-rider setup until the long delayed Blata powerplant is ready.

Team Roberts is expected to be using Honda engines next year, as revealed in MCN last week. The team is currently designing a chassis around a non running version of the engine in preparation for confirmation of the deal.
