Capriossi takes Brno win

Loris Capriossi stunned the GP paddock today with a flag to flag victory in the Brno GP.

Capirossi stormed off the line from his second place on the grid to take a one second lead by the end of the first lap.

The Ducati rider went on to stretch out a massive lead throughout the rest of the race eventually slowing on the last lap to take a comfortable five second win.

After escaping the scrum it was pole-sitter Valentino Rossi and Dani Pedrosa who were left to fight it our for second place.

Pedrosa tried a number of times to get past Rossi but the reigning world champion always fought back immediately and by the end of the race Pedrosa had settled for third letting Rossi cross the line four seconds ahead.

Championship leader Nicky Hayden finished in ninth which means that Pedrosa has now closed the gap to 25 points with Rossi only a further 13 behind.
